School Courtyard

This project transformed an underutilized school courtyard into a dynamic outdoor learning environment that integrates landscape design with educational programming. The renovation introduced flexible gathering areas where teachers can hold classes outside, along with thoughtfully designed landscape elements that support hands-on learning and student engagement.

The courtyard was redesigned to include shaded seating areas, defined pathways, and structured planting zones that illustrate key landscape and environmental principles. These features allow the space to function as both a welcoming campus courtyard and a living classroom where students can explore topics such as ecology, sustainability, and stewardship of the natural environment.

Durable materials and low-maintenance landscape strategies were incorporated to ensure the space remains functional for daily student use while supporting long-term campus operations. The completed courtyard now serves as a vibrant educational hub that encourages outdoor learning, collaboration, and a stronger connection between students and the natural landscape.
